Our classic, name - brand, quality nylon flight jacket offers a discrete way to conceal a lightweight, armored NIJ Threat Level 3a Bullet Resistant Liner.

Provides coverage similar to conventional police body armor.

Great for spring, summer or fall.

Torso coverage with protective extensions on the sides and up to the collar bone area provides ballistic protection from most handgun ammunition, up to and including the deadly powerful 44 Magnum.

Protects against large frame 44 Magnum handguns, Large Frame Semi-Auto Handguns, shotguns, 9mm sub-machine guns (Uzi, etc).

Ballistic panels provide front, side and rear protection to the NIJ Threat Level 3a standards. Protection areas are comparable to a body armor vest. There are no panels in the arms of the coats.

Jacket style body armor is designed for as discreet a fit as possible when worn while standing and walking. Body armor panels are not as flexible as the jacket/carrier and jackets are less discrete when worn while sitting.

Jackets run a little large to accommodate the added discrete liner.

Ballistic Protection also saves lives in bomb fragmentation and explosive incidents. There are thousands of cases of shrapnel being stopped by body armor. However, shrapnel and fragments can take so many shapes and forms that it is very difficult to "rate" the levels of protection. Ammunition based rating systems, like the NIJ Threat Level system, seem to be the best way to measure the strength of a material in a projectile impact test. Threat Level 3a is the HIGHEST level of protection available in soft body armor (vests). Instructions: Use Good Judgement. Hold shield products between yourself and the shooter (using the straps as handles where applicable). Use as a shield to provide cover for upper torso and head whenever possible. While taking shelter use shield product to protect yourself in the direction of the threat. While running away, hold shield product high on your back or in the direction of the threat to protect your head and upper torso (vital organs).

Caution! Do not trust a used bullet proof vest as sold in other stores and web sites to protect your life. Used Body Armor may have been exposed to trauma, excessive sunlight, moisture or chemicals. Anti-Ballistic Textiles need to be cared for properly. There is no way to test for effectiveness or exposure to chemicals, moisture, sunlight or abuse. BulletBlocker UHMWPE UD (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Laminations are a Spectra Type, unique lightweight composite material providing superior anti-ballistic protection, for both personnel and vehicle protection. UD stands for "unidirectional": In UHMWPE UD Laminations, all the fibers are laid parallel, in the same plane, rather than being woven together. UHMWPE UD Laminations are made of several layers of UHMWPE fibers, with the direction of fibers in each layer at 90 degree to the direction of the fibers in the adjacent layers. The unidirectional configuration of the fibers in UHMWPE UD Laminations allows the energy transferred from the impact of a bullet or other ballistic threat to be distributed along the fibers much faster and more efficiently than in conventional woven aramid type fabrics. This is because the absorption power of the yarn in woven fabrics is lost at the crossover points, as these points reflect rather than absorb the shockwaves of the impact. In UHMWPE UD Laminations, much more of the material is engaged in stopping the bullet, making it more effective against ballistics. Dyneema UD PE and Spectra are typical UHMWPE UD laminate materials. The polyethylene base material makes this one of the most moisture resistant anti-ballistic materials available.
