Our academy instructors and drill sergeants all drilled it into our heads: "Nothing is bullet proof!"
They were right! Body armor is just that. Like medievil suits of armor, all body armor can do is protect parts of our body from the penetrating wounds inflicted by a gunshot. Some body armor vests have limited coverage, but are easily concealed, while some have more armor plating but may be harder to conceal under clothing.
The problem WE have as we try to make body armor available to the public, is that the popular term for body armor has been "Bullet Proof Vest" since the 60s. Only law enforcement and military professionals seem to call our products body armor. Most civilian consumers use search terms like bulletproof vests, bulletproof jackets, bullet proof vests, bullet proof clothing and so on. We do our best to educate our customers about the NIJ Threal Levels for ballistic protection and what the ammunition and testing limits are, but in order to be "found" on the internet "bullet proof vests" is a term we have to live with as it refers to body armor...

Instructions: Use Good Judgement. Hold shield products between yourself and the shooter (using the straps as handles where applicable). Use as a shield to provide cover for upper torso and head whenever possible. While taking shelter use shield product to protect yourself in the direction of the threat. While running away, hold shield product high on your back or in the direction of the threat to protect your head and upper torso (vital organs).

BulletBlocker UHMWPE UD (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Laminations are a Spectra Type, unique lightweight composite material providing superior anti-ballistic protection, for both personnel and vehicle protection. UD stands for "unidirectional": In UHMWPE UD Laminations, all the fibers are laid parallel, in the same plane, rather than being woven together. UHMWPE UD Laminations are made of several layers of UHMWPE fibers, with the direction of fibers in each layer at 90 degree to the direction of the fibers in the adjacent layers. The unidirectional configuration of the fibers in UHMWPE UD Laminations allows the energy transferred from the impact of a bullet or other ballistic threat to be distributed along the fibers much faster and more efficiently than in conventional woven aramid type fabrics. This is because the absorption power of the yarn in woven fabrics is lost at the crossover points, as these points reflect rather than absorb the shockwaves of the impact. In UHMWPE UD Laminations, much more of the material is engaged in stopping the bullet, making it more effective against ballistics. Dyneema UD PE and Spectra are typical UHMWPE UD laminate materials. The polyethylene base material makes this one of the most moisture resistant anti-ballistic materials available.

Our anti-ballistic material has been independently tested to the Threat Level IIIa standard. Threat Level IIIa rated anti-ballistic material is resistant to most all handgun ammunition including .22SR, .22LR .25, .32, .38, .380, .357Magnum, 9mm Full Metal Jacket, .40 Cal., .45cal. and .44 Magnum. Most of the personal body armor worn by law enforcement is Threat Level II or IIa, both are a lower level of protection.
