BulletBlocker's Adventure 5500 Backpack - This is a user-friendly multi-day bullet proof backpack that will appeal to both novice and experienced backpackers. We think you'll find this pack exceptionally comfortable and easy to use for gear and protection from 99% of all handguns.

Collar-cut shoulder straps are padded for comfort and conform to the shape of your body. A special frame sheet design transfers weight evenly while a thickly padded hip belt offers plush cushioning over pressure points. The shoulder strap harness is attached to a hook-and-loop-fastened panel that can be moved up or down based on your torso length. Includes both top- and panel-loading access.

Side pockets fold open to double as straps for carrying skis or hiking poles. Free-floating top lid and expandable spindrift collar allow you to increase the capacity of the pack. Compression wings compact the load, taking pressure off the pack's zippers. Two angled water-bottle pockets keep hydration within easy reach. Mesh cell phone/GPS/camera pockets on shoulder strap and hip belt.

Instructions: Hold pack between yourself and the shooter using the shoulder straps as handles. Use as a shield to provide cover for upper torso and head whenever possible. While taking shelter use pack to protect yourself in the direction of the threat. While running away, hold pack high on your back or in the direction of the threat to protect your head and upper torso (vital organs).

BulletBlocker UHMWPE UD (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Laminations are a Spectra Type, unique lightweight composite material providing superior anti-ballistic protection, for both personnel and vehicle protection. UD stands for "unidirectional": In UHMWPE UD Laminations, all the fibers are laid parallel, in the same plane, rather than being woven together. UHMWPE UD Laminations are made of several layers of UHMWPE fibers, with the direction of fibers in each layer at 90 degree to the direction of the fibers in the adjacent layers. The unidirectional configuration of the fibers in UHMWPE UD Laminations allows the energy transferred from the impact of a bullet or other ballistic threat to be distributed along the fibers much faster and more efficiently than in conventional woven aramid type fabrics. This is because the absorption power of the yarn in woven fabrics is lost at the crossover points, as these points reflect rather than absorb the shockwaves of the impact. In UHMWPE UD Laminations, much more of the material is engaged in stopping the bullet, making it more effective against ballistics. Dyneema® UD and Spectra are typical UHMWPE UD laminate materials. The polyethylene base material makes this one of the most moisture resistant anti-ballistic materials available.
